Miguel K. Mathay

 

Miguel K. Mathay is a core member of the firm's Energy Group. He is primarily engaged in electrical utility regulation. He has provided advice to the leading electric private utilities in the Philippines. He has handled rate revision applications under the Return on Rate Based (RORB) system and the new Performance Based Rate (PBR) system, as well as applications relating to Capital Expenditures, Time of Use Rates, and rate adjustments in connection with changes in franchise taxes.

 

Before joining the firm's Energy Group, Mr. Mathay was connected with the Energy Regulatory Commission where he worked as the Executive Assistant to Commissioner Alejandro Z. Barin. Mr. Mathay is a member of both Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the New York State Bar. He has a Masters of Law degree in Banking, Corporations and Finance from the Fordham School of Law.
